Paper damage is not enough, you need to actually play the build to check its viability. For example, Phoenix Strike does tri-elemental damage (= no immunes will stop us) and has fantastic double digit synergies. but the existence of resources to learn about a game isn't a flaw, and every build still to start as someone making up their own buildĪrreat Summit is not enough to conclude which build is "S tier" (I hate those "tiers", BTW). If you feel like looking things up ruins games for you, then just don't do it. All of this information has always been available, and you can still make your own hodgepodge build however you'd like, no one's obligated to look things up just because it's now 2022, the game is (barring patch changes) still the same and you can play it in the exact same way you did 20 years ago. Mods, single player muling applications, and other code related modifications that required opening up the mpq files and being able to pull any relevant info were out by at least 2003. Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade ThreadĪre we talking about the same game? D2 had vast majority of skill, stat, mechanic information catalogued by the developer on Arreat Summit, and most of the deeper mechanics relating to treasure classes, item generation, etc had information documented elsewhere within 2-3 years of the game's release.
